Can a Vertical Planter Help Me Beat the Slugs This Year?

C

Last year, I took my first stab at gardening, and I chose strawberries as my inaugural crop. It was a thrilling experience, but I quickly learned a valuable lesson: Never underestimate the power of slugs! The particularly wet summer and winter didn’t do my young plants any favors, and most of my strawberries ended up as a feast for slugs and other insects. My first harvest was a modest couple of strawberries, a bittersweet reminder of the challenges of gardening.

This year, I’m determined to turn things around! I’ve repotted all my strawberry plants into a vertical planter with additional legs to keep them out of reach from those pesky slugs.

Fingers crossed for a better harvest this year! I’ve stepped up my slug patrol, and I’m more vigilant than ever. It’s a battle of wills, but I’m ready to see my strawberries flourish.
